Cross-posting from my tumbls, but I feel it's relevant to my dA too so... <XD

:bulletgreen:    5-8 years old: Drew mainly dogs and dinosaurs, sometimes Daffy Duck's head, and then around 6 or 7 I started drawing mostly Animaniacs and Sonic the Hedgehog.

:bulletgreen:    9-10 years old: The trend of drawing fanart for cartoons I liked continued, I drew a TON of Powerpuff Girls stuff, sometimes Dexter's Lab, and then when I turned 10, pokemon came out and I pretty much drew nothing but pokemon, and made up my own pokemon.

:bulletgreen:    10-11 years old: Yep, still pretty much just pokemon and made-up pokemon. I also sometimes drew Ryoko from Tenchi Muyo/Universe/whatever other Tenchi series was on Toonami at the time, because she was my favorite character, and also Ryo-Ohki because she was an adorable cat-rabbit thing and she was easy to draw. XD ; I also traced or heavily referenced some of the manga I had sometimes, mainly in an attempt to learn to draw as good as they did. _A_; Though I also did it to make wall decorations of my fave pics before I figured out I could just scan them on my mom's compy and print them out. Derp… Fortunately I learned pretty quickly that tracing wasn't really helping me improve, and it was pretty limiting anyway, so I stopped soon after.

:bulletgreen:    12-13 years old: Oh man, here we go… when I was 12, I got really heavily into Invader Zim. XD; So basically my art went straight from anime into some odd Jhonen Vasquez ripoff style. Also, around this time I started posting my artwork online, to the first online gallery I could find; Elfwood. I remember being really impatient with the fact that they moderated the pics before posting them up, you had to wait several days after submitting it for it to be approved and put up on the site. I had started to make my own characters around this time, but I was terrified of putting them online for fear that they'd be stolen by someone. <8D ; I made a few IZ fancharacters, mostly S.I.R. units. I soon found dA through an artist I'd liked on Elfwood after she moved from Elfwood to there. I got an account there while I was still 12 (BUT I'd turn 13 the next month, granted XD), named it spookydoom because I couldn't think of anything else and just wanted to start posting art already, and… yeah, stuck with it ever since. I spent the next year finding other artists I really liked, and finally gathered the courage to post my own characters, like Joe (a shapeshifting robot), and Radioactive Bunny.

:bulletgreen:    14-16 years old: Around 14 I slowly started to work my way out of being a JV ripoff, trying to go for a style somewhere between western and anime. I made Robo-N at fourteen, a dA ID being the first image I ever made and posted of her. (She was supposed to be an alter-ego for me at the time, I didn't change it to where we were separate until later on, somewhere in my late teens I believe.) I got into Megaman a lot, mainly the classic one. I THINK I ran into Andrew Dickman's art around this time, through his Megaman fanart. He was a huge inspiration for me. He really drove me to improve, because I remember wanting so hard to draw as well as him. I also made Chester when I was 14, if I remember right… back in 2003. I was really prolific around this time, posting tons of stuff in my huge effort to improve. I drew and posted lots of fanart, like pokemon and Megaman stuff.

:bulletgreen:    17-18 years old: I spent most of this time trying to develop the characters I had. I roleplayed with friends a lot, continued to experiment with different styles, and made tons of little comics. I tried to cut down on fanart to focus on my original stuff, but Guilty Gear came around and I fangirled the hell out of Zappa, so it was incredibly difficult. <XD ;; I remember meeting Para through my Guilty Gear fangirling, haha.

:bulletgreen:    19-20 years old: Aaand here's where I got obsessed with Endzone. There were so many awesome characters in that tournament, and it was being run by Endling, another huge inspiration to me. My favorite entries were Unknown's; Climber was such an endearing character that I remember really hoping he would get out of there okay.; So yeah, couldn't help myself… I drew tons of fanart for Unknown too. XD I actually met Mera through our mutual love of Unknown's animations and characters. I also tried a few OC tournaments around this time, which were pretty fun. Sadly, life got in the way and I had a lot less time to draw than I used to. My posts on dA became very sparse, though behind the scenes I was still doodling around and creating a new story…

:bulletgreen:    21-23 years old: Welp, here we are… My updates on dA were still pretty few and far between, but I started trying to make an effort to post more. I also finally took up commissions due to having troubles finding work. They were fun though, I got a chance to draw a wider variety of characters than what I've been doing. I started to draw pokemon again, but other than that I've been trying to keep fanart to a minimum. I dunno why, I guess I fear getting too obsessed over something and forgetting to draw my own stuff. <XD ; It's an odd fear though, because I still made my own stuff even during my huge Guilty Gear obsession, so… I dunno. @_@ I guess… I also worried about what other people would think. <8D ; I really need to stop doing that. But I digress! Recently I started working on a webcomic, which is something I've been wanting to do since I was 14, so… Hopefully this will be the start of a new era of awesomeness once I can start posting it. XD
